Privacy Policy
Summary
Capventory does not collect your personal or financial data. There is no account, no sign-up, no server that belongs to us and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your device.
What data the app holds
Capventory stores what you type into it: the positions you create (their names, institutions, notes, currencies and expected rates), the dated value snapshots you save for them, any exchange rates you enter by hand, and your settings such as base currency.
The app never asks for your name, address, phone number, account numbers or payment details, and it does not read your contacts, photos, messages, location or health data.
Where it is stored
In a database file inside the application’s own container on your iPhone. The file is opened with iOS file protection, so its contents are encrypted by the system while the device is locked. Encryption keys are the system’s, tied to your device and passcode.
We have no copy of this data and no way to access it. If you delete the app without making a backup, the data is gone.
What leaves the device
The app makes network requests for three things only: currency exchange rates, official precious-metal prices, and inflation figures you ask for. They go to public data sources:
- National Bank of Ukraine (bank.gov.ua) — exchange rates, precious-metal prices, Ukrainian inflation figures and forecasts
- National Bank of Poland (api.nbp.pl) — exchange rates used as a fallback
- currency-api mirrors (cdn.jsdelivr.net, currency-api.pages.dev) — exchange rates used as a further fallback
- U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (api.bls.gov) — U.S. consumer price index
- Eurostat (ec.europa.eu) — European harmonised consumer price indices
- The World Bank (api.worldbank.org) — annual inflation by country
- International Monetary Fund (www.imf.org) — inflation forecasts
Each request contains a currency code, a metal code or a country code, and a date. It contains no amounts, no position names, no device identifier and nothing that identifies you. A request only reveals that somebody was interested in, say, the dollar rate on a given day. Those services receive the request as any web request — including its network origin — and handle it under their own privacy terms.
Responses are cached on the device so the same figure is not requested twice.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracking of any kind in Capventory. The app never asks for App Tracking Transparency permission because it has nothing to track.
Permissions
The app requests exactly one system permission: Face ID or Touch ID, and only if you turn on the optional app lock. It is used to unlock the app on your device and nothing else; biometric data never leaves iOS and is never seen by the app.
Optional local notifications, if you enable reminders, are scheduled on the device and are not sent through any push service.
Backups and exports
You can export a backup file or a spreadsheet containing your complete financial picture. The file is not encrypted by the app, and where it goes is entirely your choice through the standard iOS share sheet. Once exported, the file is governed by whatever service or storage you send it to — iCloud Drive, another cloud provider, or a local folder — and by their privacy terms, not ours.
If the app is backed up as part of a device backup (iCloud or a computer), that copy is handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
Children
Capventory is a personal finance tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights over your data
Because the data never reaches us, requests for access, correction, portability or erasure are things you carry out yourself, directly and immediately: edit or delete any position or snapshot in the app, export everything with the backup function, and delete all of it by deleting the app.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s behaviour changes — a new data source, a new permission — this page is updated in the same release and the effective date above changes with it.
